Cat Nap Please
I feel as if I need a nap.
I didn't sleep well last night and it's catching up with me right now. Plus, it's very muggy/humid today. That certainly doesn't help perk me up any. I managed to get in my morning workout and that will usually boost my energy, but not today apparently.
As I watch my cat sleeping at my feet, I'm envious. He sleeps whenever and wherever.
In other news, I received a voice mail yesterday from the HR Manager for the company I interviewed with last week. If you're keeping up with my news, this is a company I have worked for in the past (back in Indiana) but a different location. It's an airport retailer. They operate several stores within the airport here in Rhode Island.
She asked me to call her at my earliest convenience and that she would be in the office today. I went to call her this morning after I left the gym and had yet another voice mail from her. Plus, she had left a message on our answering machine here at home. When I called her back, she asked me if I could come in tomorrow and meet with her for maybe 10 minutes or so. I feel like I'm jumping through hoops here for a job they already know I can do and for a company I already have a work history with. What could I say though? I have to jump through the hoop if I want to be offered the job.
Plus, I got a summons for jury duty in the mail this weekend. All the time I grew up and lived in Indiana, I never once was picked for jury duty. My Hubby has lived here all his life and never been picked. I've lived here 2 years and they pick me. Lucky Me! <insert eye roll> So, I'm due to go for that on July 9th and can be expected to at least spend 2 days there if I'm not picked for anything. My luck I'll get the job and they'll want me to start that week. I plan on making them aware of my jury summons right away though.
My birthday is a little more then a week away. I'm not feeling very excited about this one. Normally, my Hubby would try and surprise me with whatever he gives me but this year I know what I'm receiving. He let me order an 8GB IPod Nano online this weekend. I can't wait for it to arrive!! I have been wanting this particular one for quite awhile. He's so good to me! If I get this job, I'm going to think of something special to do for him once I start making money.
I was hoping writing this post might wake me up a little, but I'm still feeling sleepy. I think it's a good time to go veg out for a bit. Maybe my sleepy cat will join me.

I really hope you get the job. I have always found first, second, third interviews really annoying.
I got called for jury duty only once in my old age, and that was shortly after I got married, moved, and registered my DL with a new address. Lucky me, I got a murder trial that took a long time, and then we had a wacky juror. It was NOT fun to say the least.

You got on a murder trial?? UGH! I can't even imagine having to do that. Tho RI is a very corrupt state so who knows what I might end up with!!

Yes... it was AWFUL. And the problem wasn't with the trial itself. Long story short, they made us take an oath and such about not having any bad police experience, or any family or friends that were incarcerated or that we knew the victim or defendant, etc...
Well, this lovely girl on our jury not only 1) had a boyfriend in prison, 2) did not like the police because she was pulled over once and had a bad experience but 3) SHE KNEW THE DEFENDANT! The case was a simple case, the dude was so guilty that even my cat knew it and this chick held up our trial for over a week. It took us 4-5 days to get her to even tell us the truth about why she was so convinced he wasn't guilty. Then we had to go to the judge, and blah blah blah.
It was a NIGHTMARE! I think if I were to ever get called for jury duty again, I would beg and plead for them to let me get out of it.
I hope if you get kept, your case is something simple like, "their dog ate my prize winning magnolias".

Holy Hannah!! That's insane! I would have wanted to beat that girl with a stick. I can not believe people can be like that. *shakes head*
I'm praying that I don't get called for anything and can just waste 2 days sitting around waiting and be done with it.

Maybe they want you to come in to make you an in person offer? 10 minutes isn't too much time. I can't wait to hear what they want!
